Among the Elephants
By Iain and Oria Douglas-Hamilton; hardcover with dust jacket and mylar cover, ex-library, some stamps and labels, cutout from end paper. Many color and BW photos.
A young Scottish zoologist studies elephants in East Africa and their endangered role in the changing face of the region. (this was written in 1975 so the historical perspective is interesting) A wonderful reference. $5 plus post.

Seal Morning
By Rowena Farre. Hardcover, 1959, 180 pages with nice drawings.
This is the tale of a woman in the Scottish Highlands who is adopted by a seal who becomes her companion and gets along with other wildlife, too. A very unusual story. The book is one of those small special hardcovers, bound in bright red cloth. You rarely see books like this one anymore. $5 plus post.

Pippa's Challenge
by Joy Adamson
Hardcover, no dust jacket, illustrated, 177 pages
Remember Elsa and Born Free? In this book, Adamson addresses the cheetah and in particular, a cheetah named Pippa. Incredible photography of cheetahs in the African habitat, and speculation on their ability to survive. A great book. $3 plus post.
