In 1984 the Met curated and hosted the most incredible exhibit on what people wear to ride and drive horses--and what they once wore. Luckily for us, they also published a lavish "coffee table" book to document the exhibit and filled it with amazing photos. It's really three books in one: "The Evolution of Riding and Its Influence on Equestrian Costume" (Mackay-Smith); "Aside and Astride: A History of Ladies' Riding Apparel" (Druesedow) and "Fashion on Wheels" (Ryder). A must-have reference and art book and this copy is in like-new condition. $12 plus post.
