The Dog Who Spoke With Gods
by Diane Jessup
Softcover, 2001
I wasn't sure where to put this one. It is a novel, technically, but it is so great, I wanted to be sure that anyone interested in dogs would find this listing. This book won the Dog Writer's Merial Human-Animal Bond Award, with good reason. This book will tear you apart, as a medical researcher is emotionally drawn to one of the research dogs in her lab. We need more books like this one. In close to new condition, just one corner bump, etc. $5 plus post.

Star in the Storm
By Joan Hiatt Harlow; hardcover with dust jacket, published in 2000. 150 pages.
Ah, a young adult novel about Newfoundland and that most noble of all dogs, The Newf. When non-shepherd dogs are banned from her village in 1912, Maggie vowed to hide and protect her beloved Newfie. What happens when the gale comes up makes for exciting reading but the whole book is a tribute to the fishing culture of Newfoundland. This is a great book…and not just for kids. It is hard to find and this is an excellent copy with a very nice dust jacket. $5 plus post.

Winterdance
By Gary Paulsen; softcover in excellent condition. 1994, 256 pages with a section of color photos.
First-person account of the Iditarod sled-dog race in Alaska. $2 plus post

Second Chances: More Tales of Found Dogs
by Elise Lufkin, photos by Diana Walker, foreword by Jamie Lee Curtis. Large format soft cover, 180 pages, photos on every spread.
From the author of “Found Dogs”; Great stories of dogs who were abandoned or abused and found new, happy homes. This will warm your heart. Maybe even melt it. I love this book! $4 plus post

How to Massage Your Dog
by Jane Buckle
Hardcover the dust jacket, 81 pages, illustrated.
Cute! Very cute! Little book shows you how to help your dog relax or just generally enhance bonding. It is a slight volume but packed with good advice! I never knew there was such a thing as tail massage...$3 plus post.

Sled Dog Trails
by Mary Shields
Softcover, 127 pages, signed by author.
The first woman to complete the Iditarod tells her story and explains her love for Alaska and sled dog racing. Interesting! $3 plus post.
